DESCRIPTION:Sustainable Home and Garden Tour\nSaturday\, October 1st from 8am -12:00pm\nPick up map at Helping Hands Garden – 255 Parkway Blvd \nAn evolution of the annual Smartscape Tour of Coppell\, the Sustainable Home and Garden Tour will expand to include features such as solar\, rain water catchments\, compost methods\, and backyard habitats in addition to Smartscape design. This casual self-guided yard tour will take place on Saturday\, October 1st from 8 a.m. to noon. \nThe idea is to provide people the opportunity to talk to homeowners casually about the real impact of investing in features that can be both beneficial to the environment and cost saving. The tour will allow people to compare something like the cost of renting vs. purchasing solar in an environment that feels like talking to a neighbor. \nEach home will feature diverse highlights. Tour goers will be able to attend all five stops or pick and choose the locations that are most relevant to their interests. People who visit all stops however\, will have the opportunity to complete a scavenger hunt that will qualify them to win a rain barrel or compost bin from the City of Coppell. \n  \nKeep Coppell Beautiful’s new spin on the Smartscape Tour offers a fun day exploring local gardens that will inspire greener living. To attend\, no registration or payment is required. Simply collect your map from Helping Hands Garden\, 255 Parkway Blvd. (next to Town Center) on Saturday\, October 1st between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The first 100 people will receive a green living giveaway.

DESCRIPTION:Don’t miss out on this Companion and Succession Planting class on Saturday\, June 25th from 11 A.M. -12:30 P.M. Learn which vegetables and flowers should be planted together to support each other and deter pests as well as how to rotate your crops to keep your soil healthy. \nThe Companion and Succession Planting Workshop focuses on the thriving biodiversity of your garden with fruits\, vegetables\, herbs\, and flowers creating beneficial ecosystems. It will address introductory information about companion planting\, benefits to companion and succession planting\, and helpful tips for companion and succession planting. \nThis class is hosted by Keep Coppell Beautiful Environmental Education. Rachel Weaver will be giving the talk\, who has worked in small-scale\, sustainable agriculture since 2012. She began as an intern and crew member at Cardo’s Farm Project in Denton\, Texas.
